Teeth Whitening

We offer safe and effective whitening options for a brighter smile.

Veneers

Veneers are cosmetic restorations used to brighten and straighten your smile.  Below is a quick overview of the two types.

  • Ceramic veneers are extremely thin shells made of a strong porcelain or ceramic. When needed, the dentist removes a small amount of enamel from the front and sides of the tooth. This makes room for the veneer and prevents the restored tooth from feeling or looking bulky or unnatural. Impressions are taken and sent to a dental lab that makes the veneers to fit your individual teeth. After completion, the veneers are bonded to teeth.
  • Composite resin veneers generally are done in one appointment. After the tooth is prepared and reshaped, the dentist carefully bonds and sculpts the composite material in a color that matches your other teeth. A special light is used to harden the composite. The veneer is smoothed and polished to look like a natural tooth.

Tooth Colored Fillings

Composite resin is a tooth-colored filling material.

Crowns

A crown is a cover or “cap” for your tooth.  It restores the tooth’s shape, size and function.  Reasons a dentist would recommend a crown include:

  • to help strengthen a tooth with a large filling when there is not enough tooth remaining to hold the filling.
  • protecting a tooth after a root canal
  • strengthening a tooth that is cracked or worn down
  • covering a discolored tooth

Crowns can be made of many different materials, such as metal alloys, ceramics, porcelain, composite resin, or a combination of these materials.
